4. Revive limp salad leaves with a quick ‘bath’

Bags of salad can be surprisingly pricey, so when they wilt it can be annoying and costly. If you find yourself with a bag of sad-looking salad, simply remove any really soggy leaves, fill a large bowl with cold water and chuck the leaves in. Leave them to sit for 20 minutes, dry them with a paper towel and Voilà! Your salad is good to go.

5. Make berries last longer by rinsing them with vinegar

This one sounds strange but hear me out! Berries can be one of the most expensive fruits to buy, so you don’t want them going mushy within a few days of being opened. To stop that happening, rinse strawberries, raspberries and any other berries with 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water before storing them. The vinegar taste won’t linger (promise) and your berries will stay fresher for longer.

6. Wrap celery in kitchen foil to prolong its life

Keep your celery tasty, crunchy and fresh by wrapping each individual stick in foil. This can prolong its life for an unbelievable 2 weeks!
