We’re all guilty of overspending sometimes on things we really don’t need but we can’t help it, we’re only human. However, if you struggle to keep on top of your finances on a regular basis then here’s a few money saving ideas that could help you cut back on things that you can do without.

Cut down on energy bills

This is a simple thing to do! You can simply go onto websites like comparethemarket.co.uk or gocompare.co.uk and compare the best price for energy bills in your area. You can potentially save 100’s of pounds on your energy bills just by entering a few details and switching to a better deal will see huge savings every month

Bottled Water

Not only are plastic bottles becoming an economic issue with plastic bottles ending up in our oceans but they are also very expensive if bought every day! In the UK, water from the tap is perfectly fine to consume and can be used to refill a water bottle without having to pay for a new plastic water bottle every day. Get yourself a Cheap Water Bottle and refill it every day to avoid buying bottled water from a shop.

Gift Coupons

Search for coupons, discount codes, and promo codes online before buying anything. Look for coupons for the item you have in mind or for the store you want to buy it from. Sign up for email subscriptions from your favorite retail stores because they will periodically send you coupons.

Gym Membership

Many people look to change their lifestyle at the start of the year with new year resolutions but these rarely surpass two or three months, however, a lot of people forget to cancel their subscription in fear of giving up on their goal. Although it is sad to fail a goal, gym monthly cost can be very expensive and if you don’t use the facilities anymore, it’s simply wasted money.

Internet Service Provider

Internet service providers love drawing you in with great introductory deals that can seem great at the time but will leave you spending more than you bargained for after that deal ends. Most Internet service providers only have deals that last for 12 months, 18 months if you are lucky!  So when your introductory deal is up, shop around for a better deal or if you don’t want to change provider, try and call and threaten to leave and this might prompt the provider to give you a discount!

Mobile Phone

How much do you need the new fancy phone that comes out every year? It’s no surprise that phones are getting more expensive, especially with smartphones having almost the same technology that computers have inside, in the palm of your hands. But some smartphones are getting so expensive now that they could be costing you as much as £80-£100 per month. If you’re looking to upgrade your old phone, try to refrain to forking out for the flagship models and go for something a little less pricey. Take a look on carphone warehouse find the best deals to suit your budget.
