The thought of taking on a new project to spruce up your home can be quite a daunting task – not to mention the cost. Luckily for YMS readers, we have found super simple ways to change up your space that won’t cost you a fortune and will also kill some of that boredom!

Get Creative With Tape

Wallpaper can be really expensive – but savvy bargain hunters have figured out a way to create amazing designs with just some masking tape and tester pots of paint. Our favourite is this geometric design that would make for a stunning feature wall and looks like an expensive wallpaper print that actually only costed a few pounds! Get creative with different colour combinations too.

Mix and Match Your Frames

It used to be common place to buy identical frames so they all matched, but in recent years we’ve seen the rise of mix and matching colours and textures to create a stylish collage look. It gives a much more modern feel and definitely creates more of a statement in the home. See what different frames you have lying around or even check out charity shops to find some really unique ones for a few pounds!

Make Your Own Headboard

Changing up your headboard is a super easy way to totally change the look of your bedroom. But before you think about forking out hundreds for one, why not see what you can make one out of? There are loads of ideas floating around the internet, such as this beautiful rustic one made from a few planks of wood! You could even paint them to fit the theme of your room.

Light Up The Room

Fairy lights are probably the easiest way to give a room a bit of magic – and not only at Christmas! Whether you prefer a warmer or cooler toned light, they’ll be sure to give your room a super cosy atmosphere and can look much cuter than a lamp. You could even take inspiration from the picture above and hang a voile curtain in front to create a soft, dreamy vibe. (Be sure to use LED lights like these that don’t emit heat though, to avoid a fire hazard!)

Wrapping Paper As Prints!

Wall prints have soared in popularity recently and while they all look stunning, they can be quite expensive. That’s where your wrapping paper comes in – yes, you read that right! You probably have some left over wrapping paper from birthdays and if not, a whole roll is usually no more than a few pounds (check out this funky flamingo print!). Cut to size and frame, it’s that easy!
