With Halloween fast approaching, take the opportunity to have some spooky fun before the madness of Christmas sets in! We’ve compiled a list of ways you can have a great, scary Halloween, without being scared to look at your bank account afterwards.

Get Costumes Online

Costumes in stores can often be overpriced around this time of year, and it will most likely only be worn once! Try looking for secondhand costumes on sites like eBay or Facebook Marketplace for a cheap alternative. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, Amazon also has great discounts on lots of their Halloween costumes and accessories at the moment, check them out here.

Have A Scary Movie Marathon!

There are no doubt loads of new scary films out in the cinema around Halloween, but a trip to the cinema can be really expensive nowadays. Besides, the classic horror films are better than some of the newer ones! Get all your friends round, turn all the lights off and scare yourself silly without spending a penny. If you’ve got younger children, you could even watch one of the Halloween family films such as Hocus Pocus or Hotel Transylvania.

Bake Some Spooky Treats

Halloween is all about eating sugary things and not feeling guilty about it, so why not bake some delicious treats while staying out of the cold.  There are hundreds of amazingly creepy baking ideas on the internet; a quick scroll through pinterest will have you wanting to get your apron out! Check out this spooky spider cupcake making kit for a fail-safe idea.

Carve Pumpkins With Friends!

A Halloween without pumpkin carving is no Halloween at all! Coming up with the best design every year is always a struggle, and without the right tools, yours won’t be the best pumpkin on the street. Some of the cheaper pumpkin carving kits can be poor quality and often break after a few minutes which may leave you with a half-done pumpkin. Try a better quality one that will last you for years to come, such as this one.

Book Theme Parks Early

If you are a thrill seeker and are up for a good scare, book online for Thorpe Park Fright Nights; you can save up to £17pp! Dare to ride thrilling rollercoasters in the dark like The Swarm, the UK’s first winged rollercoaster, or the 100ft ‘beyond vertical’ drop of the movie-themed coaster ‘Saw’ The Ride. On top of all these breath-taking attractions, Thorpe Park offers scary horror mazes and freaky characters lurking the grounds of the dark and gloomy theme park.
