Make Spring Cleaning Easy!

As winter finally starts to come to an end, those sunny days are just over the horizon but there’s always one thing that people put off… the spring clean. Now although not essential, it is a great way to make your home fresh and clean now that you don’t have to hide away from the cold on the sofa all day. Throw open the windows and let in the fragrant smell of Spring, and here are a few tips and tricks to help you along the way to get a cleaner, fresher home this spring.

#1 – Keep on top of things

Keeping on top of the cleaning is one of the easiest ways to eliminate the stress of taking on the entire house. Regular cleaning and decluttering can make the annual spring clean a lot faster and easier. Don’t let the mess build up! A little 5 minute clean here and there can prevent the big spring clean, giving you a day back in your busy life.

#2 – Hire a Professional Cleaner

Why not leave it to the pros? They know what they’re doing and they can do it so much faster than you can. Think about it. If you’re on a full-time job with not much time and energy to spare, this expense will be well worth the investment.

Instead of spending endless hours cleaning the house, free yourself to spend that day on finishing up an overdue project or better yet, do some unwinding with a loved one.

#3 – One For Pet Owners

From carpets, hard floors, and upholstery to nooks and crannies, pet hair manages to get everywhere as does dog dust and pesky parasites. If you share your home with a dog, it’s wise to invest in a pet-specific rather than a standard vacuum, as they have extra-strong suction, brush action and more robust filters. Brands such as Dyson and Shark are popular choices.

#4 – Move the Furniture

Now, this can be a difficult one, especially if you have some heavy sofas, but there can be a small ecosystem living under your furniture!

Just simply moving the furniture around can give you access to all those hard to reach places where dirt and grime like to build up. if you can’t move the furniture then try and just push the hoover nozzle as far as you can under to get as much as you can. You’ll be surprised by what you might find!

#5 – Get the Kids To Help Out

Many hands make light work!

If you have kids that need their rooms cleaning… let’s face it, they all do. Then getting them to help out with spring cleaning by tidying their room can make life a lot easier for yourself. We know its a battle to get young ones to actually tidy their rooms but a simple incentive can go a long way to getting them on board.
