Whether you’re planning to pick up some presents for the family or if you’re shopping for cleaning products, books, or electronics, Amazon is probably the first place you go. You can get everything you’d ever need in one quick online transaction, and real customer reviews make it easy to decide which best-selling Amazon products are worth buying. Amazon is also rife with little-known opportunities and tricks to save some cash. Take a look at our top tips to get a great deal at Amazon.

1. Become An Amazon Prime Member

A way to avoid Amazon’s delivery charges is to use Prime. Amazon offers a free one-month trial of Amazon Prime. You can cancel before you get charged the subscription fee after the month is finished. Amazon does offer an annual or monthly subscription service which costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month and gets you unlimited free one-day delivery as well as other benefits like access to Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Photos cloud storage and access to the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

2. Amazon Refurbished Store

Not many people know this, but Amazon has a certified refurbished store. The certified refurbished store sells things like tablets, smartphones, and laptops with up to 35% off. The range is made up of electronics that have been refurbished, tested and re-packaged by the retailer and all come with a one-year warranty which is always good to have.

 3. Beat Delivery Charges

Don’t have Prime but don’t want to pay for shipping? The minimum spends in order to trigger free delivery on Amazon is £20. If your order is under the threshold, you’ll have to pay a delivery charge, which can vary from £1.49 to £6 depending on which products you may purchase. So try and do a big shop rather than lots of little ones. Items from Amazon’s Marketplace will count towards your free delivery threshold as long as they are marked as ‘fulfilled by Amazon’.

 4. Let Your Cart Track Prices For You

If you’re not in a rush to purchase some pricier items that you don’t need right away, consider putting them in your cart on Amazon and clicking the “save for later” button. Amazon will alert you if there have been any price decreases (or increases!). In the long run this might save you some money. Somethings are worth waiting for.

5. Take Advantage Of Daily Deals

When you are on Amazon look carefully at the top of the page. See a little tab that says “Today’s Deals?” Click on that and get ready to save. There you can find Deals of the Day (items discounted for one day only) ranging from electronics, skincare, home furniture, and many more. There are also Lightning Deals (items discounted for a few hours or until the set stock runs out). You can also use an Echo device to learn about the latest deals by asking, “Alexa, what are my deals?” which comes in handy.
